Honeymoon in Ventimiglia, Italy

Although we were very close to the Italian border, Ventimiglia is the only city we were able to visit. Before our trip I had done a little research and read that there is a very large outdoor market there every Friday, with over 500 different booths full of shoes, clothes, jewelry, food and much, much more. Needless to say I was pretty excited about this shopping trip! So once again we set out early in the morning for the train station, Ventimiglia was the last stop so we were able to take in all the lovely sights along way. Taking the train was cheap, easy and a great way to see the magnificent Mediterranean coastline. We mostly did some shopping while we were there, a lot of the vendors sold very similar (if not the same) items, but they were willing to bargain and we found some great souvenirs. We also visited a smaller market full of fresh meat, cheeses, pasta and flowers, and we found the time to indulge in some local cuisine and my favorite GELATO! We didn’t stay very long, since we literally shopped till we dropped (very proud of my husband, who normally HATES shopping), but at least we can say we spent a wonderful day in Italy πŸ™‚
